Idag är också en dag

Idag är det sex år sedan min fru tog det alldeles spektakulärt ogenomtänkta beslutet att gå med på att gifta sig med mig första gången. Hon gjorde det, vilket den överdrivet fritidsberikade bloggläsaren kanske minns, en gång till den 8 augusti samma sommar eftersom min fru är från Teheran och jag är från Helsingborg och eftersom man aldrig riktigt kan bjuda sina vänner på för mycket mat för många gånger hade vi ett persiskt och ett skånskt bröllop.

För att fira det har vi förstås en massa mycket lokalt förankrade traditioner, varav en är att jag åker till fiskaffären och köper skaldjur åt min fru medan min fru åker till Ica Maxi och köper ett dussin olika sorters charkuterier åt mig. Traditionen har nu blivit så traditionell att jag kan be personalen i fiskaffären om ”det min fru gillar” medan min fru kan gå fram till personalen i delikatessdisken på Ica Maxi och be om ”en påse Kött & Blandat till min man, tack”. Sedan springer vi runt, runt, runt i parken med våra barn tills de somnar, och sedan sitter min fru och jag mittemot varandra vid köksbordet och tittar på tv-serier. Jag äter jättegoda grejer och dricker öl och hon äter äckliga grejer och dricker champagne.

Jag älskar henne som man älskar vinden i håret och solen i ansiktet. Vi föddes några tusen kilometer ifrån varandra men av en händelse träffades vi i Stockholm för åtta år sedan, och nu bor vi i Solna och har två barn som är friska, stökiga, oregerliga och inte riktigt kloka något av dem.

Idag är det Sveriges nationaldag och min frus och min sjätte bröllopsdag, och jag har precis som de flesta andra läst i tidningarna att många människor, politiker bland annat, vill att invandrare ska visa större tacksamhet för att de får leva här.

Jag ville bara som hastigast nämna att jag är väldigt, väldigt, väldigt tacksam, jag också.
